Share market update: Metals shine; Hindalco, Vedanta jump 3% 

NEW DELHI: Most metal & mining stocks were on an upward trajectory during Friday's session. 

The Nifty Metal index was trading 2.8 percent up at 3,399 around 12:45 pm. 
Shares of Jindal Steel & Power (up 6.32 percent) were the top gainers in the metal index. 
It was followed by APL Apollo Tubes (up 5.75 percent), Hindalco IndustriesNSE 3.79 % (up 3.35 percent) and Coal India (up 3.28 percent). 
NMDC (up 3.14 per cent), Vedanta (up 2.72 per cent), JSW Steel (up 2.67 per cent), Tata Steel (up 2.39 per cent), MOIL (up 1.94 per cent), Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (up 1.40 per cent), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (up 1.39 per cent), Hindustan Copper (up 1.06 per cent) and Hindustan Zinc (up 0.63 per cent) too found themselves among the gainers.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 222 points at 10,457, while the BSE Sensex was up 712 points at 34,713. 
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 3 were in the red 
Bajaj Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki India, HPCL and Eicher Motors were among the top gainers in the Nifty index.

Rising for the second straight day, gold prices gained Rs 65 to reach Rs 30,550 per 10 grams at the bullion market today on sustained buying by local jewelers amid a firm trend overseas. Silver followed suit and reclaimed the Rs 39,000-mark by jumping Rs 250 to Rs 39,100 per kg due to increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers.  Marketmen said sentiment was bolstered after gold bounced in global markets , as a weak US jobs data pushed the dollar lower.   Increased buying by local jewelers to meet the rising demand at the domestic spot market too fulled the uptrend, they said.  Globally, gold rose 0.51 percent to USD 1,213.30 an ounce and silver gained 0.62 percent to USD 15.38 an ounce in New York in yesterday's trade.  In the national capital, gold of 99.9 percent and 99.5 percent purity rose Rs 65 each to Rs 30,550 and Rs 30,400 per 10 grams, respectively. Rubber products industry hit by rising synthetic variety prices

KOCHI:                                                   The rubber products industry, both tire, and non-tire are feeling the pinch of soaring prices of several forms of synthetic rubber prices even as it is grappling with a natural rubber shortage in the domestic market.  India is totally dependent on the import of several varieties of synthetic rubber (SR) l, the use of which has gone up in a tire and non-tire sectors.  “Certain forms of SR like solution SBR, chlorobutyl and bromobutyl are exclusively imported.
