Share market update: HPCL, GAIL, RIL keep BSE Oil & Gas index in the green

NEW DELHI: 

Gains in shares of Indraprastha Gas (up 2.93 percent), HPCL (up 1.79 percent), GAIL (India) (up 1.73 percent) and Reliance Industries (RIL) (up 1.25 percent) were keeping the BSE Oil & Gas index in the green zone in Wednesday's session. 
The BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 0.64 percent up at 14,931 around 02:50 pm. 
Shares of BPCL (up 0.55 percent) and Indian Oil Corporation (up 0.23 percent) too were in the green. 
However, Oil India (down 1.70 percent), ONGC (down 0.88 percent), Castrol India (down 0.53 percent) and Petronet LNG (down 0.13 percent) capped the gains of the index. 
Benchmark BSE Sensex was 123 points down at 36,529, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 26 points at 11,041.

Rising for the second straight day, gold prices gained Rs 65 to reach Rs 30,550 per 10 grams at the bullion market today on sustained buying by local jewelers amid a firm trend overseas. Silver followed suit and reclaimed the Rs 39,000-mark by jumping Rs 250 to Rs 39,100 per kg due to increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers.  Marketmen said sentiment was bolstered after gold bounced in global markets , as a weak US jobs data pushed the dollar lower.   Increased buying by local jewelers to meet the rising demand at the domestic spot market too fulled the uptrend, they said.  Globally, gold rose 0.51 percent to USD 1,213.30 an ounce and silver gained 0.62 percent to USD 15.38 an ounce in New York in yesterday's trade.  In the national capital, gold of 99.9 percent and 99.5 percent purity rose Rs 65 each to Rs 30,550 and Rs 30,400 per 10 grams, respectively. Rubber products industry hit by rising synthetic variety prices

KOCHI:                                                   The rubber products industry, both tire, and non-tire are feeling the pinch of soaring prices of several forms of synthetic rubber prices even as it is grappling with a natural rubber shortage in the domestic market.  India is totally dependent on the import of several varieties of synthetic rubber (SR) l, the use of which has gone up in a tire and non-tire sectors.  “Certain forms of SR like solution SBR, chlorobutyl and bromobutyl are exclusively imported.
