Stock market update: Midcaps and smallcaps outperform Sensex; Natco Pharma, Tata Power shine 

NEW DELHI: Midcaps and smallcaps were outperforming Sensex in the morning session of trade on Tuesday. 
At 10:30 am, the BSE Midcap index was trading 0.20 percent up at 16,260 and the BSE Smallcap index was 0.08 percent up at 16,730. The equity benchmark Sensex was 0.17 percent down at 37,856. 

 Shares of Natco Pharma (up 3.28 percent), Tata Power Company (up 3.26 percent), Alkem Laboratories (up 2.63 percent), Tata Communications (up 2.43 percent) and IIFL Holdings (up 2.3... 
Max Financial Services (down 2.85 per cent), Muthoot Finance (down 2.45 per cent), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (down 2.17 per cent), Colgate-Palmolive (India) (down 1.68 per cent) and Whirlpool of India (down 1.60 per cent) were among the 
top losers in the midcap index at that time. 

 In the smallcap index, Allsec Technologies (up 13.74 percent), Flexituff International (up 9.92 percent), Signet Industries (up 9.57 percent), India Tourism Development Corporation (up 8.92 percent) and Dredging Corporation Of India (up 7.64 percent) were among the top gainers.

NEW DELHI: Most IT stocks were trading with gains in Wednesday's session amid a fresh fall in rupee against the US dollar. The Nifty IT was trading 0.51 percent up at 16,075 around 11:45 am. Gold subdued ahead of Fed Chair speech, G20 summit

  Spot gold inched 0.1 percent lower to $1,221.70 per ounce at 0337 GMT.  Gold prices inched lower on Tuesday while investors awaited clues on the pace of future US interest rate hikes and as the US-China trade spat sours ahead of a G20 summit. Sensex gains 200 points, Nifty above 10,700; YES Bank slips 4%

NEW DELHI: -   Positive global sentiment, due to hopes of a possible truce between the US and China on the trade war front, helped domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty open Wednesday's session in the positive territory.    White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow confirmed a dinner powwow between Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at the G20 gathering in Argentina.
